Fishing Rod Reels

Fishing rod reels can be either very simple or very complex depending on the type of fishing being done. They can be expensive or cheap and will have various advantages and flaws based upon what sort of fishing you are doing. It is important to find the right reel for you.

If you are interested in fishing in smaller rivers and streams you will most likely want a fly reel. You might also consider getting a spinning fishing rod reel which can be used to catch some slightly larger fish in the same environment. For lake fishing a baitcasting reel would probably be best.

Ocean fishing is often much more complicated and involves a lot more technical fishing rod reels. The first thing to do is decide where you will be fishing. The second goal is to decide what sort of fish you wish to catch. Once you’ve committed to these two things, you’ll know what type reel to purchase.
